The excerpt below, from a document published in 1920, outlines the flight test requirements for a Canadian Private Pilot License. I found it while I was cleaning out my barn in preparation for an auction. I suppose a previous owner was contemplating getting a pilot's license. I hope it worked out well for him or her.

I thought it particularly interesting that the flight test was to be conducted solo. The flight test for a PPL today is much more detailed but at least one is not required to land with the engine off from 5,000 feet within 300 feet of a mark on the ground!
